Whenever athletes are coming back from surgery, especially if its dental related they take 3-4 bottles a day in order to keep on weight and muscle mass so they’re ready after they have recovered. I have 1-2 a day myself in order to make sure I’ve got everything i need to recover for the next training day.

Nuun Electrolytes
Electrolytes are essential for athletic performance, and not taking them can put you unknowingly at a much higher risk of injury. I went through periods of high injury rates, and the one big thing that changed when my injuries thinned out and almost disappeared was electrolytes. Ask any serious athlete, and these will be one of the biggest parts of their routine. (Liquid IV listed below is a more heavy hitter, this one is more for daily hydration)
HMB
I Highly recommend reading up on this product before buying!!
This is basically a supplement that is intended for human consumption, that is given to cancer patients to prevent muscle loss. If you are in a situation in which you’ve deemed it necessary to use this supplement, such as after a major injury, this could help you with your overall muscle retention. In my dog’s roughest time having to take prednisone because of cancer, this was her saving grace. She was starting to look super thin, and barely able to get up on her own because of the drug’s muscle mass loss side effect. We put her, a 10 year old mastiff, on HMB and she started being more cognisant, getting up on her own, and lived for one and a half more years, when we thought she had mere months, along with a quality life. Liquid IV
Liquid IV is one of if not the best electrolytes meant specifically and tested for sports hydration, with more sugars, potassium, vitamins, and meant for quicker absorption. However these do come more expensive, so having these as your regular electrolyte option instead of game based may not be reasonable.
Shaker Bottle
I’ve gone through many different shaker bottles, and many have a hard time mixing everything together unless it’s battery powered, which could come out a bit costly. However, these Helimix mixers have been the one bottle that have done me justice compared to all the others I’ve tried, no batteries needed.
